AstraZeneca is looking for an experienced and talented GCC Marketing Head to join their global team in Dubai. The Marketing Manager will work very closely with the Business Unit Director and Country sales leads to deploy and adapt the AZ brand strategy to the local market, including tactics and execution. S/he will lead and supervise creation of relevant brands marketing strategies and it’s execution to maximize potential of the CVRM portfolio.

Responsibilities of Marketing Head CVRM

  • Lead strategy for assigned brands: brand planning process in context of competitive landscape (message, programs, key initiatives).
  • Monitor all aspects of product behaviour in the market, lead analysis of insights collected from market research, syndicated reports, team feedbacks & own KEE/field visits to further input impact on strategy.
  • In cooperation with Business Unit Director, plan the demand for AZ products by providing cyclical forecasts.
  • Revise and develop Annual Business Updates, Long Term Forecasts, Rolling Business Updates as well as annual and 3-year tactical plans for the product life cycle.
  • Ensure full execution of the marketing team to set brand plans as per dedicated timelines while driving consistent market visits , brand sessions, & regular market performance meetings to ensure addressing opportunities & managing any performance gaps together with the CFT.
  • Provide advice on setting up/reviewing the cost and the policy of discounts on products in respective therapeutic area when asked to.
  • Monitor the promotional activities of competitors.
  • Closely cooperate with the Brand Team in the development of promotional campaigns and the professional presentation of campaigns to the sales team involved in promotion.
  • Acquire and maintain specific knowledge on all areas related to the success of the product portfolio.
  • Drive rigorous market insight generation based on robust analysis of market data to ensure that strategic decisions are made based on reliable data.
  • Ensure the coherence of promotional and PR planning, implementation in alignment with the approved priorities, budget and other practices and standards adopted in AstraZeneca.
  • Share the knowledge and best practices of other markets with the marketing team. Make sure that the specifics of the market are taken into account when adapting best practices in the relevant local market/s.

Your Duties as GCC Marketing Head CVRM

  • Implement control measures to compare the actual results of the work performed with the goals and take appropriate action in case of deviations from the plan.
  • Monitor the work of brand managers of development and implementation of a plan for marketing research, analysis of the pharmaceutical market, monitoring market shares and sales of competitors.
  • Analyze and resolve possible difficulties for the effective work of the team. Create challenges and inspire team to increase productivity.
  • Manage A&P and reporting team variable costs.
  • Ensure work & planning of the team is based on clear economic rationale and key activities are carried out within the budget.
  • Manages resources to optimize investment and maximize returns.
  • Generate annual sales and expense budgets.
  • Consolidate feedback and forecasts from Brand Managers. Provide regular forecasts for the projected expenses at the end of the year. Re-evaluating the budget in accordance with priorities, market conditions and a profound understanding of the products on the market.
  • Build relationships with key internal / external clients.
  • Develops and implements KOL management for priority marketing objectives.
  • Driving cross-functional cooperation in order to achieve TA goals.
  • Report to BUD monthly on the status of implementation of the tactical plan to internal customers.
  • Maintain highest ethical standards and work in a spirit of AstraZeneca Code of Ethics, following rules set by corporate policies.
  • Ensure that all conducted activities are done in accordance with local legislation and corporate standards.

Eligiblity Criteria

Following is the selection criteria for the role of GCC Marketing Head – CVRM at AstraZeneca:

  • Minimum of 4 yrs of Marketing experience. At least a total of 7 years in the Pharmaceutical and/or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods.
  • Experience in successful product launches with excellent understanding of the market and access.
  • CVRM experience is a plus.
  • At least One year or more of people management experience is a plus.
