Maritime and Mercantile International
As a Fine Wine Broker at Maritime and Mercantile International in 5th Floor, Emirates Holiday Building, Business Bay, Dubai, UAE, candidate will be formalizing MMI’s fine wine broking business from Dubai, by building and managing a trading network to increase sales opportunities for stock as well as sourcing parcels of fine wine to meet the burgeoning demand in their home market but also the Indian Ocean and Asian markets. This is an Intermediate level full time job. And salary can range between 10000-20000 AED/month.
Responsibilities of Fine Wine Broker
- Manage MMI’s fine wine inventory to optimize stock levels to improve stock efficiency.
- Proactively build and leverage a network across Europe, Asia and the Americas to trade fine wine stock that meets MMI’s strategic needs.
- Manage spot market purchases of wine and vintages required from recognized and reputed sources
- Assist with buying during key categories such as Bordeaux and Place de Bordeaux releases, developing over greater responsibilities over time.
Requirements for Role of Fine Wine Broker
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field.
- At least 5 years’ experience in the fine wine industry, with a strong track record in fine wine broking.
- Experienced in managing private clients and fine wine retail, with an understanding of the GCC market dynamics.
Skills And Knowledge Desired
- Advanced wine knowledge with a minimum WSET Level 3, preferably undertaking Level 4 (Diploma).
- Demonstrated knowledge of fine wines, particularly from Bordeaux and Burgundy
- Advanced commercial analysis skills, with solid knowledge of Excel for effective data interpretation and market trend analysis.
- Proficient in sales, negotiation and relationship management, complemented by adept problem solving and decision making capabilities.
- Proficient in French.
