Job Description
A Finacial Planning and Analysis Manager, at Abbott Diabetes Care Division is responsible to prepare and monitor plans and LBE’s, IBPs, monthly analysis and reporting of the GrEAT Region to management. This position will analyze and review monthly reports (e.g. Performance Analysis, Sales, standard Margin, expenses) and develop commentary of variances. The incumbent will lead special projects as directed by the Finance Controller.
Responsibilities of Financial Planning and Analysis Manager
- Preparation of Plans, LBE’s and IBP package.
- Preparation of weekly, monthly & quarterly reporting requirements to local management, GNB region and EMEAP region.
- Analysis/interpretation of monthly results and liaison with functional groups to determine future exposures against current benchmark.
- Preparation of the specialized analysis of potential business opportunities and performance monitoring the business.
- Allocates appropriate amounts of time for completing own and others’ work. Avoids scheduling conflicts; develops timelines and milestones.
- Takes advantage of available resources (individual, processes, departments, and tools) to complete work efficiently; coordinates with internal and external partners.
- Uses time efficiently and prevents irrelevant issues or distractions from interfering with work completion.
- Vigilantly watches over job processes, tasks, and work products to ensure freedom from errors, omissions, or defects.
- Initiates action to correct quality problems or notifies others of quality issues as appropriate.
- Detects problems and opportunities.
- Gather all relevant data and information from multipliable source.
- Identify underlying issues and problems.
- Recognize and analyze trends.
- Identify cause-effect relationships.
Education & Experience
Following is the desired criteria for the role of Financial Planning and Analysis Manager at Abbott Laboratories:
- Graduate level (major in Accounting). Preferably CPA or CA.
- Minimum 5 years in a finance field.
- Previous experience in Financial/Planning Management role. Experience with Abbott would be a definite asset.
- Advanced level spreadsheet experience.
- Multi-national company exposure.
