Job Duties of A Financial Controller

• Developing financial strategy, including risk minimization plans and opportunity forecasting.
• High-level financial reporting and analysis
• Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts.
• Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports.
• Supervise and manage financial department staff, including accountants and financial assistants. Motivate and lead finance team members by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedback.
• Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, including but not limited to invoicing, bookkeeping and reconciliation.
• Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
• Negotiating lines of credit and vendor agreements, as well as reviewing all financial contracts, financing agreements and insurance policies
• Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation.
• Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
• Develop budgets and financial plans for the company based on research and data reports.
• Review and oversee all feasibility plans and other internal proposal to ensure compliance and due diligence with financial workings.
• Overlook and oversee all price variance with principles as well as cost impact whilst ensuring countermeasures are in place.
• Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities.
• Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies.
• Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations
• Keep open communication with all HOD’s and Reporting line with any deviation from budgets or targets whilst highlighting and mediating risk
• Ensure Group Financial policy guidelines are followed without exception.
• Forecasting short-term working capital requirement and providing regular updates to BUH on deviations for necessary corrective action.

Requirements for Role of Financial Controller

• Chartered Accountant.
• 15+ years of progressive Finance & Accounting experience, preferably in construction/ heavy equipment industry.

Skills Required

• Strong MS Office skills, ORACLE; ERP software skills.
• Ability to manage relationships both internally and externally.
• Proficient in reading / interpreting financial statements for the purpose of underwriting credit.
