Job Overview for Open Faculty

An Assistant or Associate Professor must serve as the program subject matter experts and assist the Chair / Coordinator on the ongoing operation of the academic program. Also, ensure accredited curriculum is implemented in accordance with the academic standards of the university and in line with the requirements of the Ministry of Education. Faculty reports directly to the Dean of the program and assists the Chair / Coordinator in the department and any administrative staff associated with the department.

Responsibilities of Open Faculty

• Practice relevant teaching with a focus to prepare the next generation of architects, typically in a semester an academic would be expected to teach 1 studio and 2 taught modules.
• Being research active with a minimum of two research outputs an academic year.
• Deliver student centered learning instruction by establishing a classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvement as well as effectively plan and prepare for classes and student success.
• Promote student success by showing flexibility in style and work schedule. Exhibit a passion for teaching and students and engaging students in the learning process.

What You Will Do

• Manage the learning environment. Maintain regular office hours.
• Participate in developing the FAID labs and create new innovative technology labs / studios.
• Participate in course development initiatives as assigned and program governance.
• Adhere to and publicly support policies and procedures. At the same time maintain privacy and confidentiality of student information.
• Conduct some administrative duties as assigned by Head of the Department and the Dean.
