Job Purpose of A Enterprise Application Architect

  • Collaborates with Business leaders, subject matter experts and IT leadership to help build and optimize a holistic vision of the IT Application assets.
  • Contributes to business and IT strategy and development of technology road maps while creating the necessary artifacts to properly communicate and implement this vision.
  • Monitors the current and future needs of the different lines of business.
  • Designs, negotiates, and implements technical, process and architectural standards as required.

Job Duties of An Enterprise Application Architect / Developer At ADIB (UAE)

  • Understand ADIB’s Business and Digital Transformation strategies.
  • Defining the current and future state application architectures for different lines of business, focusing on areas of architecture in accordance with business needs.
  • Develop High Level Design documents for major initiatives. The HLD provides an overview of the current and target architecture along with impact at the business, operations, application, data and infrastructure levels.
  • Lead decision making efforts for strategic technology choices for key functional capabilities and establish the architectural definitions which enable these choices to be implemented.
  • Provide architectural oversight to activities within the Digital Transformation Strategy.

What you’ll do

  • Producing and maintaining content in the centrally managed architectural frame works, including functional, process and technology architectures, ensuring that this content can be used practically to plan, direct and implement change.
  • Engage with colleagues across Group IT and the business to communicate and promote the target architecture, and the use of the artefacts which under pin it.
  • Keep the Business Capability Map up to date.
  • Communicate with different business leaders about all relevant capabilities, the IT capabilities or systems that support each capability.
  • Produce different heatmaps and impact analysis artifacts.
  • Use previous experience of enterprise application integration to advise on target integration architecture for major initiatives.
  • Design EA department processes in line with TOGAF and advise on associated KPIs.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field like Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • 15-16 years of Information Technology experience.
  • Professional experience of working with integration and BPM technologies.
  • Experience of creating High Level designs for major banking initiatives.
  • Working experience with different Architecture frame works e.g., TOGAF, BIAN, OAGiS etc.
  • Experience working in highly complex environments.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

  • In depth knowledge and experience of Integration Standards and Technologies.
  • Knowledge and experience of Enterprise application Architecture and development technologies.
  • Knowledge of Banking architecture frame works e.g., BIAN, OAGiS, IBM IFW etc.
  • Excellent oral and written Communication skills to collaborate with different business units, teams within IT and senior executives.
  • Knowledge of Cloud concepts (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS etc.) and architecture level knowledge of Cloud plat forms and Cloud-native/Micro-services solutions.
  • Knowledge of DevOps and Agile Development concepts and their application to banking IT.
