Job Description

Al Rabeeh Academy Abu Dhabi is actively seeking to hire suitably qualified & experienced Secondary English Teacher. Al Rabeeh Academy is a bilingual private school from FS1 to Year 13, delivering English (England) National Curriculum, alongside Arabic. Successful candidate will form part of a highly committed and dedicated English Department team. This job has recently been posted by the school and is presenlty open for all interested candidates.

Purpose of A Secondary English Teacher

Teach and mentor students in English language and literature, fostering their language proficiency and communication abilities.

Job Duties of A Secondary English Teacher

  • Work under head of English department and assist in finalizing the English curriculum.
  • Impart the assigned english curriculum to KS3 and KS4 students in a best possible method.
  • Adopt an appropriate teaching mechanism/ methodology to the deliver the assigned curriculum.
  • Lay special emphasis on speaking/ verbal english skills alongside reading and writing.
  • Contineously monitor and assess students through tests and exam in order to have a clear picture about performance of each student.
  • Identify weak students and lay special emphasis on their weak areas.
  • Lay special emphasis on motivating students to take part in extra curricular activities.
  • Perform any other duty as assigned by Head of English Department or which may fall within the scope of job duty.

Who Can Apply?

Qualification

  • Masters degree in English.
  • Strong subject knowledge with an ability and willingness to teach across KS3 & KS4.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience of teaching in schools that follow National Curriculum of England.
  • Experience of current UK initiatives and developments in English.
  • Experience of teaching ‘A’ levels is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong classroom management skills and excellent subject knowledge.
  • Confidence in using IT to motivate and extend student’s learning experiences.
  • Experience of using data from internal assessments and standardised tests and external assessments to track student progress.
  • Experience of teaching EAL students is essential.
