Scope of Project Engineer

A project Engineer at Emirates UAE will manage design and development of Commodity and system projects in their respective fields. (Cabin Interior, or IFE and Avionics) He will define Technical Specification of aircraft product and Configuration based on all internal stakeholders input. Furthermore, Project Engineer will ensure that the delivery of Buyers Furnished Equipment (BFE) and Suppliers Furnished Equipment (SFE) maintains high quality, specification and is on time.

Responsibilities of Project Engineer

A Project Engineer at Emirates Airline will

• Gather requirements from internal stakeholder such as Service Delivery, Fleet planning, Flight Ops, Catering, Airport Services, maintenance and leadership.
• Prepare Technical Specification for Commodities and systems.
• Carry out Technical Evaluation of proposed BFE and SFE products.
• Provide risk assessment and recommendations to project manager.
• Manage Commodities/systems project. Participate in Initial Technical Coordination Meetings, Preliminary Design Review Meetings, Critical Design Review Meetings, First Article Inspections and Source Inspections.

What you’ll do

As a Project Engineer at Emirates you will

• Coordinate with Suppliers and OEM (Aircraft Manufacturer) on regular basis such as weekly conference calls, workshops, program status review meetings.
• Coordinate with OEM (Airbus/Boeing) on Product Interface Requirements, Integration, Maintainability, layout and Configuration.
• Regularly update on project status, key issues and Milestone Achievements to project manager and VP Engg projects.
• During design and development, address the Regulatory and safety requirements.
• Provide BFE material, fit check and test parts requirement for the project to BFE Management team.
• As per functional structure, work with primary and secondary focal of project and seek necessary guidance.

Qualification & Experience

• Degree in Engineering or holder of Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License.
• 5+ years experience in Engineering or Aviation.
• Preferably 2 years in Engineering Projects.

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of latest technical developments and industry trends on respective products/systems.
• Ability to analyse and synthesize technical information for implementation in cost effective ways.
• Project management and reporting skills.
• Demonstrable experience in managing complex tasks and decision making in a fast-paced environment.
