Job Purpose of An Emergency Medical Dispatcher

The main purpose of the Emergency Medical Dispatcher operator is to manage emergency calls and coordinate with Mediclinic Ambulance Services to provide an outstanding service to patients.

What You’ll Do As An Emergency Medical Dispatcher

• Receive ambulance calls for emergency, inter hospital & airport transfers / other cases.
• Determine type and level of response necessary and dispatch the ambulance with EMT & proper equipment.
• Provide initial / pre arrival emergency medical instructions.
• Maintain an operational log.
• Recording details of incidents and actions.
• Communicate in a supportive manner with distressed callers requiring assistance.

What You’ll Need?

Qualification / Certification

• Minimum higher secondary education with a diploma in General Nursing.

OR

• First Aid Certificate in CPR / Basic Life Support.

Experience

• Minimum 1-2 years.
• Proven Experience in dispatch operations, regulations, telecommunications, CAD system and EMS equipment associated with Ambulance Services.

Skills Desired

• Demonstrates an understanding of first aid and basic emergency medical procedures.
• Showcase a high level of inter personal and communication skills (both written and oral).
• Excellent customer service skills.
