ELV Inspector Duncan & Ross Abu Dhabi

As an ELV Inspector at Duncan & Ross, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems during construction projects to ensure compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Your role will be critical in maintaining the quality and functionality of ELV systems. This is a mid level full time role. For this position salary ranges from 6000 AED to 15000 AED, which may be slightly negotiatable during the interview.

Responsibilities of An ELV Inspector

  • Inspection: Conduct detailed inspections of ELV systems, including structured cabling, CCTV, access control, fire alarm, PA/BGM, and other related systems, to ensure compliance with design specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor construction activities related to ELV systems installation, testing, and commissioning to ensure adherence to approved drawings, technical specifications, and industry best practices.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, non-conformities, and corrective actions taken during the construction process.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to address any issues or concerns identified during inspections and ensure timely resolution.
  • Code Compliance: Verify that ELV systems installation complies with relevant building codes, regulations (e.g., NFPA, IEC), and safety standards.
  • Testing and Commissioning: Oversee and participate in testing and commissioning activities of ELV systems to verify functionality and performance.
  • Reporting: Prepare comprehensive inspection reports detailing findings, observations, and recommendations for corrective actions, as well as progress updates for project stakeholders.
  • Training and Guidance: Provide guidance and technical support to construction teams regarding proper installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of ELV systems.

Eligibility Requirements

The eligibility requirements for role of an ELV Inspector are as under:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Low Voltage Professional (CLVP) or equivalent are desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in ELV system installation, testing, commissioning, or inspection, preferably in a consultancy environment.
