Job Purpose of A Electrical Technician

• Performs electrical installation on Solid Control Equipments through use of drawings, schematics and interpretation / knowledge of codes and safety regulations.
• Eligible to trouble shoot electrical problems along with the mechanical team.

Job Duties As A Electrical Technician At National Oilwell Varco (NOV) Abu Dhabi, UAE

• Ability to read and understand blue prints, diagrams and wire schematics to determine work procedure.
• Assemble, install, test & maintain electrical or electronic wiring & equipments.
• Assemble & prepare electrical components.
• Set up and test units or subassemblies to required specifications.
• Competent in testing of AC and/or DC variable speed and variable frequency drive systems.
• Ensure equipment is operational and safe prior to final test.
• Low to medium voltage experience (120V to 690V).
• Must be able to use electrical instruments such as multi meter & insulation tester.
• Knowledgeable with industry standards for electrical equipment and operation of generator controls.
• Ensure quality documents are completed in line with company procedures.
• Demonstrate safe use of shop tools (both hand and power).
• Perform rigging activities, safety related functions and other electrical functions.
• Ability to read and understand drawings, bills of material, setup sheets, schematics etc.
• Knowledge of electrical system parts and their function.
• Able to use and understand electrical instruments.
• Follow HSE policy and procedures, safe system of work & local needs.
• Use properly and maintain the tools and personal protective equipment provided by the company.
• Report unsafe acts & conditions, work place incident to the supervisors & HSE dept.
• Perform other work related tasks as assigned.

Eligibility Criteria?

Qualification

• High School Diploma or equal combination of education and experience.

Experience

• Electrical wiring experience of 3-5 years on equipments.
• Assembly experience on solid control equipments of 2 years.
