United Nations (UN) is actively looking for suitable candidate for the job role of a Driver.
This job position is located in the UN Resident Coordinator Office in the Abu Dhabi, UAE. The incumbent will report to the Head of the Resident Coordinator Office. Job Purpose of A Driver

Safely transport people, goods and documents/ parcels from one location to another using UN authorized vehicles.

Job Duties of A Driver

• Drives vehicles safely for the transport of authorized personnel and for the transport of general cargo goods.
• Makes deliveries of parcels, documents etc between the office and other offices and institutions such as Ministries, Embassies, Permanent Missions etc.
• Makes minor purchases and collect urgent purchases from local suppliers as requested.
• Collect goods from customs with due regard to customs regulations & formalities.
• May make or collect payment for goods.
• Meets official personnel at the airport.
• Deals effectively and tactfully with officials and visitors.
• Takes care of the day to day maintenance of assigned vehicles such as check oil, water, battery, brakes and tires etc.
• Perform minor repairs and arranges for other repairs and keep the vehicle clean.
• Logs fuel consumption & maintenance etc.
• Take steps required by rules & regulations in case of accident.
• Applies good judgment in the context of assignments given.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualification & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a driver with a safe driving record.
• Experience in driving a variety of makes and models of vehicles, including vans & other kinds of motorized vehicles.
• Experience in driving and supporting senior officials and working with United Nations comparable organization.

License & Certification

• Valid National Driver License is required.
• Defensive driving certification (desired).
• A valid basic first aid training or equivalent.
• Training in basic and advance security protocols.

Lingual Skills

• Fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
