About the Role

As a Drama Teacher at Yasmina British Academy, you will deliver engaging and inspiring Drama lessons across the secondary school. Furthermore, you will create a positive learning climate that is conducive to outstanding practice while identifying clear teaching objectives and setting challenging tasks. The role involves teaching Drama up to GCSE and potentially A Level, with the ability to lead Dance and Drama ECAs being an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding Drama lessons that challenge students and ensure high levels of engagement
• Plan and present sessions using a variety of teaching methods matched to content and student needs
• Set clear targets building on prior attainment and identify SEN and gifted students
• Mark and monitor students’ work, set targets for progress, and assess systematically
• Make effective use of performance data to inform planning and deliver differentiated learning
• Contribute to the corporate life of the academy through meetings and management systems
• Participate in marketing and liaison activities including open evenings and parent-teacher consultations
• Lead Dance and Drama extra-curricular activities for secondary students

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Drama, Performing Arts, or relevant field with a teaching qualification
• Minimum 2 years of experience teaching Drama, GCSE and A Level experience desirable
• Previous experience working with EAL students
• Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child
• Ability to lead Dance and Drama ECAs at secondary level is an advantage
• A positive and solution-focused attitude to working life
• A clean enhanced DBS check or police clearance
