About the Role
As Director of Laboratory Services & Outreach at American Hospital Dubai, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight for your service line, working closely with executive management to achieve departmental goals and maintain the highest standards of quality. You will manage budgets, lead multidisciplinary teams, and drive continuous improvement across all operational and clinical functions. Moreover, you will represent the department in hospital committees and with external regulatory bodies. This senior role demands strong decision-making skills, deep sector knowledge, and proven leadership experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the department, aligning activities with hospital-wide goals and objectives
- Develop, manage, and monitor departmental budgets, ensuring efficient allocation and utilisation of resources
- Establish and track KPIs to drive continuous quality improvement and operational performance
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, conducting performance appraisals and supporting professional growth
- Ensure full compliance with HAAD/DHA licensing requirements, JCIA standards, and applicable UAE healthcare regulations
- Represent the department in hospital committees, external stakeholder meetings, and accreditation activities
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning processes within the department
- Identify and implement innovative solutions to improve service quality, safety, and patient experience
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or a relevant clinical or management discipline
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive healthcare experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership or management role
- Active DHA/HAAD licence or eligibility for UAE healthcare professional licensing
- Demonstrated expertise in budget management, strategic planning, and team leadership within a hospital environment
- In-depth knowledge of JCIA accreditation standards and UAE Ministry of Health regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in healthcare information systems and data-driven performance management

Salary & Benefits
The estimated salary range for the Director of Laboratory Services & Outreach position at American Hospital Dubai is between AED 18,000 and AED 35,000 per month, commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience.
