Job Purpose of A Director Legal Affairs
Provide strategic legal guidance and oversee legal operations within Dubai Customs to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks.
Duties of A Director Legal Affairs
- Design the policies and procedures of the Legal Affairs Department.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with laws and regulations.
- Prepare and review all decisions and instructions issued by the UAE government and the Dubai government.
- Educating Dubai Customs stakeholders on the legal requirements related to their duties and responsibilities.
- Assess and provide advice on legal issues and risks associated with Dubai Customs operations.
- Monitoring & introducing legal amendments proposed by the Government of Dubai and the UAE.
- Representing Dubai Customs before governmental bodies within the country, external organizations and other relevant organizations to ensure that there is no harm to Dubai Customs services.
- Contributing to investigations related to violations of Dubai Customs laws and regulations.
- Referring cases to Dubai Courts when necessary.
- Follow up on the prosecution’s actions regarding all cases related to Dubai Customs and ensure that they are managed effectively and in a timely manner.
- Keeping stakeholders informed of developments in conflict situations and legal prosecutions.
- Participate in the process of settling disputes and lawsuit.
- Providing advice on inquiries related to signing sound contracts needed by contractors, consultants, suppliers and engagement In settling disputes.
- Review future contracts to ensure they are consistent with Dubai Customs rules and regulations and ensure their enforceability.
- Developing standards and guidelines for various legal documents such as employment contracts between Dubai Customs and its employees and purchase contracts.
- Performing any duties assigned by direct manager in a proper and timely manner.
Who Can Apply?
Qualification
- Degree in law, preferably with a
specialization in trade & customs studies. - Degree or diploma in business.
Experience
- 13-15 years of business related experience.
