Director IT, Community Development Authority Dubai

Community Development Authority (CDA) Dubai is currently hiring suitably qualified & experiened candidate for job role of a Director Information Technology. The selected candidate will be responsible to oversee CDA’s IT department and ensures efficient operations of IT systems and infrastructure. Job Purpose of A Director IT

Provide strategic and technical leadership to develop, implement and evaluate the IT services delivery process and related framework within the authority.

Job Duties of A Director IT

• Ensure that the organization provides high quality information technology services that are able to compete with the services provided by other governments/leading institutions.
• Lead, develop and implement standards, procedures and policies for use of IT within the organization.
• Manage IT resources within organization, and monitor compliance with policies and standards.
• Manage IT budget requirements, arrange resourcing, manage expenses and ensure best value for money for IT spend.
• Develop CDA’s IT strategy and policies to support Authority’s business & operational plans in cooperation with CEO of Corporate Support Services Sector and CDA’s other Departments Directors.
• Understand IT needs throughout Authority & highlight as well as develop organization’s IT capabilities in all areas.
• Provide IT support and guidance to other department heads in their performance of their assigned duties.
• Ensure quality of IT services being provided are in accordance with set procedures and policies.
• Identify all necessary IT technology needs & complete IT operations efficiently and cost effectively.
• Supervise the development of IT systems and infrastructure throughout the Authority, such as systems maintenance, software upgrades, network connectivity, local area network/wide area network management
  Servers, hardware (PCs, printers and other peripherals), user support/help desk, software management, security/firewall management, storage and backup management and IT risk management.
• Keep a IT disaster recovery plan in place and that databases are backed up.
• Provide information & recommendations to CEO of Enterprise Support Services Sector for planning purposes from IT perspective.
• Assess short & long term IT needs of CDA and plan a strategy to develop systems, networks and technical capabilities to meet application needs.

What You Need To Do More?

• Establishes relationships with external service providers (IT service vendors and consultants).
• Manages outsourcing IT contracts and ensures all IT acquisition/occupancy activities comply with documented laws.
• Supervise implementation & maintenance of multiple IT projects in the CDA.
• Provide guidance on all technology related issues and recommend solutions based on defined architecture and technology standards.
• Work with senior management to transform IT department into a service provider that enjoys flexibility, efficiency, customer focused and adopting highest standards.
• Conduct research and analysis to support the organization’s IT strategy and provide advice on emerging IT trends and technologies.

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field (preferance for candidates with Master’s degree in IT).
• At least 10-15 years of experience in IT field including 5 years in a supervisory role.
