An opportunity has arisen for an Director – Food & Beverage to join Jumeirah Burj Al Arab. The job holder will be responsible for overseeing all culinary operations, manage dining experiences, and ensure the highest standards of service and quality in the hotel’s restaurants and bars.

Responsibilities of Director

  • Direct the implementation of the Food & Beverage operational strategy, in line with the
    corporate direction and guidelines to reinforce the Group’s vision and the provision of a world
    class guest experience.
  • Ensure Food and Beverage operations are run effectively and efficiently crafting exceptional
    experiences for guests and they receive the highest level of food quality and service.
  • Plan, direct and monitor services and F&B standards in all outlets and kitchens ensuring that
    managers take corrective actions as necessary in adherence to Jumeirah policies and
    standards.
  • Participate in the group’s Food & Beverages annual business plan, Sales and Marketing Plans
    and provide inputs and feedback to set new goals and expectations thus driving value.
  • Support, in conjunction with the SBU General Manager, the definition of the SBU overall
    strategy in terms of pricing, placement and branding of the F&B outlets within the SBU to
    ensure they live up to the brand expectation.
  • Participate in public relations activities, sales calls or other promotional activities designed at
    enhancing the image and profitability of the F&B department and the SBU.
  • Manage employee value proposition through Goals aligned to organization mission, vision, and values.
  • Manage Colleagues performance through rigorous learning and development,
    mentoring, coaching and feedbacks. Guide the Colleagues through effective programs
    maximizing their performance and aiding to career progression and succession linked to
    employee value proposition.
  • Responsible for periodic review of departmental policies, manuals, checklists, SOP and
    guidelines (as applicable) and update them as needed with appropriate implementation in
    operations thus ensuring that F&B operations continues to deliver world class services,
    excellence, and innovation.
  • Responsible for change initiatives, programs and projects considering international best
    practices with strategic focus on improvement of business processes, cost reduction and
    increase of productivity, efficiency etc.

Requirements of Director

  • Master’s / Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • 8 years of F&B operations experience with an international luxury hospitality
    company.
  • 5 years in a managerial position in F&B Operations.
  • Experience in creating, developing, and implementing procedures, manuals, and F&B
    concepts etc.

Skills and Knowledge Desired

  • Knowledge of core hotel operations.
  • Project Management, planning and implementation skills.
