Designer Piping, NPCC Abu Dhabi

National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) presently requires suitably qualified candidate for job role of Senior Designer (Piping) in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will lead teams involved with development of discipline specific engineering drawing (Drafting discipline). This job has been listed by NPCC on 4 September 2023 and is open to accept applications from eligible candidates.

Purpose of A Senior Designer Piping

• For small projects, will be designated the task of designers, with sole responsibility for design work
• On larger projects will be designated as Design Team Leader.

Job Duties of A Senior Designer Piping

• Supervises and participates in discipline specific drafting activities carried out by drafting staff. Complete work assignments on time and to set standards.
• Studies and understands the scope of work and specifications for each project.
• Prepares basic drawings and allocates them to team members for the work of preparing detailed engineering drawings.
• Acts as the ultimate checker for all drawings produced by draftsmen to ensure compliance with brief, consistency and quality of work.
• Prepares the bill of materials for the entire project, ensuring accuracy and comprehensiveness of information.
• Provides input for the resolution of engineering queries from clients or third parties.
• Review of 3D modelling.
• Undertakes interdisciplinary coordination to ensure integration of project drafting activities.
• Works in close conjunction with discipline engineer to ensure speedy resolution of any problems and adhere to project schedule.
• Resolves yard queries during construction phase to conform the work with drawings.

Who Can Apply?

Qualification

• Technical diploma in engineering or equivalent.

Experience

• 12 years design experience with a minimum of 3 years as DTL.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in oil and gas field, preferably in offshore.
• Supervisory experience and team leader qualities.
• Experience in 3D modelling.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

• Good interdisciplinary knowledge.
• Knowledge of written and spoken English.
• Experienced and competent Computer Aided Design (CAD) operator.
• Rigorous checker.
