Design Team Leader, AECOM UAE

Oversee & lead a team responsible for planning, designing & maintaining highway infrastructure to ensure efficient transportation and safety for the public.

Job Duties of A Design Team Leader

• Project Leadership: Lead and manage a team of highway design professionals to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Design Management: Oversee all aspects of highway design projects, from conceptualization to completion, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.
• Client Interaction: Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met throughout the project lifecycle.
• Technical Expertise: Apply extensive knowledge of highway design principles, standards and regulations to provide technical guidance and mentorship to the team.
• Resource Management: Effectively allcate resources, including personnel and equipment, to ensure project goals are achieved efficiently.
• Budget Control: Monitor project budgets, identify cost saving opportunities and implement strategies to maximize project profitability.
• Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and compliance of design work.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with highway design projects, taking proactive steps to avoid delays and cost overruns.
• Reporting: Prepare and present regular project progress reports to senior management and clients. 
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements and best practices to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of highway design processes.

Eligibility Criteria?

• Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Experience: A minimum of 17 years of experience in highway design, with a strong emphasis on leadership roles.
• Proven experience in managing & delivering complex highway design projects.
• Licensing: Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
