About the Role

As Deputy Head of Primary at Gems Winchester School Fujairah, you will support the Head of Primary in driving academic excellence, enhancing teaching and learning, and fostering a positive school culture. Furthermore, you will lead curriculum development and assessment across primary stages while supporting teacher development through coaching, observations, and CPD initiatives. The successful candidate will also deputise for the Head of Primary as required and promote safeguarding and wellbeing throughout the school.

Key Responsibilities

• Deputise for the Head of Primary as required across all operational and strategic areas
• Lead curriculum development and assessment across all primary stages
• Support teacher development through coaching, lesson observations, and CPD initiatives
• Build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents
• Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusive practices throughout the primary section
• Contribute to school improvement planning and implementation of strategic priorities
• Monitor and analyse student progress data to inform academic intervention programmes

Requirements

• Recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant field
• Proven leadership experience at middle or senior level in a primary school setting
• Strong understanding of curriculum development, assessment, and school improvement
• Excellent coaching, mentoring, and interpersonal skills
• Experience with British or international curriculum frameworks is preferred
