A Department Head – IT Support Services at Dubai Health Authority will determine the training needs of users of applications and information systems in coordination with the relevant authorities. The role holder will supervise the provision of technical support and ensure the provision of the highest levels of service for health information systems. This is in order to meet the requirements of application users and implementing relevant initiatives in coordination with the relevant departments and health service providers in the Authority.

Responsibilities of Department Head IT Support Services

  • Supervising the development and implementation of an integrated plan to qualify and create IT Business Partner units) in hospitals, health centers and other organizational units, according to a specific time frame and clear indicators.
  • Supervising the development of regulations governing the technical support process at the level of the Authority and its affiliated organizational units and following up on their implementation.
  • Supervising the development and updating of the user guide for all electronic systems used in the Authority. Preparing guidance and introductory brochures on electronic systems.
  • Preparing periodic reports and presenting them to the department director. Studying the results and analyzing them with the aim of developing and updating operations and procedures.
  • Work on any other tasks assigned by the department manager.
  • Develop and formulate the department’s short- and medium-term operational goals and plans. Ensure their alignment with the department’s plans in accordance with Dubai Health Authority policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures as well as the implementation of services/operations. Improve the work environment and facilities to support the workforce in achieving the Authority’s objectives.
  • Developing new initiatives and projects to support the department’s strategic direction. Designing an evaluation framework for the services provided by the department. Evaluate and identify areas for improvement.
  • Preparing the department’s annual budget, obtaining necessary approvals and monitoring implementation. Ensure compliance with the financial and procurement policies of the DHA.
  • Arranging appropriate training courses based on identifying training needs to improve employee performance.
  • Direct department staff and develop a positive work environment. Enhance the performance of employees and teams.
  • Develop and enhance the Authority’s culture among the department’s employees that leads to continuous excellence and effective business growth while maintaining the highest levels of integrity.

Qualifications & Experience

Following is the eligibility criteria for the role of Department Head IT Support Services at DHA:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or work field.
  • Master’s degree in information technology or related field is preferable.
  • 8-10 years of work experience and 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Only UAE National.
