Job Description

City University Ajman (CU Ajman) is seeking a suitable candidate for the position of Dental Nurse / Dental Assistant in Ajman, UAE. City University Ajman is one of the top ranked accredited universities in Ajman. This open position is recently published on university’s careers page and is open for all eligible candidates.

Job Role of Dental Assistant

To assist dentist during dental procedures, ensure patient comfort, and maintain proper sterilization and organization of dental equipment and instruments in the university.

Job Duties of Dental Assistant

  • Assist dentist/s in all clinical procedures, providing chairside assistance.
  • Maintain standards of hygiene and cross infection control, according to the latest guidelines and following practice procedures and policy of the University and Ministry of Health.
  • Prepare instrument trays for all dental procedures.
  • Advise dentist/s of any faulty or poorly functioning equipment and take prompt action to remedy any defects or problems.
  • Complete all the relevant paperwork is promptly and accurately and update and maintain all client records according to procedures.
  • Maintain Registration and comply with all University and College of Dentistry requirements.
  • Build trust and caring relationships with all patients, and take all reasonable steps to ensure their comfort while in the dental clinic.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Monitor stock levels for materials and sundries and order/liaise with dentist/s on ordering.
  • Assist the dentist/s and reception team in gaining acceptance for treatment plans from clients.
  • Prepare necessary documentation and reports as require by the College of Dentistry.
  • Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all dental interventions according to university standard and legal requirements.
  • Utilize all stock and equipment efficiently, according to University guidelines.

Qualification & Experience

  • Diploma in Dental Assistant or Dental Nursing or Registered Nurse or Assistant Nurse meeting licensure as per criteria.
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in the same role.
