Role of Denials and Audit Specialist

Utilizing his / her coding expertise to ensure accurate and compliant billing practices, manage the denial process, and conduct Internal audits.

Key Responsibilities of Denials and Audit Specialist

• Report to the Revenue Optimization Manager and collaborate with the healthcare finance team.
• Manage the denials process, by analyzing and identifying the main reasons of denials and provide corrective measures.
• Identify trends and root causes and report findings as well as assist in mapping out process improvement opportunities.
• Utilize coding and billing expertise to ensure accurate and compliant billing practices, in accordance with the relevant regulations and guidelines.
• Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with the denial management process, assess and improve the accuracy of coding and billing practices.
• Correspond with all concerned departments and offer the required education and training to address and rectify their denials related issues.
• Generate reports and provide insights to enhance revenue optimization strategies.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in health information management or related field.
• Coding certification (e.g., CPC, CCS) and relevant experience in denial management.
• Clinical Documentation Improvement certificate is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in denial management and coding within a healthcare setting in Abu Dhabi.
