Responsibilities Of Demand Forecasting Specialist 

Following are the duties and accountabilities for the said role:

• Demand Forecasting: Utilize historical sales data, emerging trends (for each station), and other relevant factors to develop accurate demand forecasts for fuel products across. weekly/monthly/annual timeframes.
• Data Analysis: Analyze sales data, market research, and customer behavior to identify patterns, trends, and factors influencing demand.
• Use statistical models and forecasting techniques to generate accurate predictions.
• Inventory Management: Collaborate with all area station managers to ensure optimal inventory levels at each retail location.
• Monitor inventory turnover, identify slow-moving products, and recommend strategies to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
• Sales and Operations Planning: Work closely with cross-functional teams to align demand forecasts with procurement, and distribution plans.
• Provide inputs for sales and operations planning meetings to optimize resource allocation and meet customer demand.
• Performance Monitoring: Track and evaluate the accuracy of demand forecasts against actual sales data.
• Identify and analyze forecast errors, root causes, and trends to continuously improve forecasting models and methodologies.
• Reporting and Communication: Prepare and present regular reports, dashboards, and insights to senior management, highlighting key findings, forecast accuracy, and recommendations for improvement.

Eligibility Requirements

The minimum requirements for the role of Demand Forecasting Specialist are as under:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• Proven experience of 6-8 years in demand forecasting, preferably in the retail fuel industry.
