Responsibilities of Daycare Staff

• Supervise and engage with children in age appropriate activities, including games, arts and crafts, outdoor play, and educational exercises.
• Ensure the safety and well being of all children in the daycare center, monitoring their activities and interactions at all times.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and child friendly environment, including tidying up play areas, sanitizing toys and equipment, and assisting with meal and snack preparation.
• Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and fellow staff members, demonstrating warmth, patience, and understanding in all interactions.
• Assist with diapering, toileting, and personal hygiene routines for infants and toddlers, following established procedures and guidelines.
• Implement daily schedules and routines, including nap times, meals, and structured activities, to promote consistency and predictability for children.
• Observe and document children’s behavior, development, and milestones, providing feedback and updates to parents and supervisors as needed.
• Collaborate with daycare center leadership and colleagues to plan and implement age appropriate curriculum and learning experiences for children.
• Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance
• knowledge and skills in childcare practices and early childhood education.

Requirements of Daycare Staff

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in early childhood education or childcare is a plus.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred but not required (training can be provided).
• Previous experience of 1-2 years working with children in a daycare, preschool, or similar setting preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

• Ability to lift and carry children, bend and stoop, and stand for extended periods during daily activities.
