Job Description

. TEmirates Airline is seeking qualified and experience candidate for the job position of a Data Privacy Manager Advisory in Dubai. The selected candidate will be a subject matter expert on privacy regulations and advise on privacy requirements for business projects and act as a regulatory advisor on DPO policies, procedures, and initiatives (e.g., DSRRs, RoPAs, DPIAs, privacy incidents, defining risks and controls). Role holder will continuously review compliance to global privacy regulations and enhance privacy practices within the organisation and the DPO. Role holder will monitor regulatory updates and industry trends and their impact of these on the organisation and inform key stakeholders where changes are needed. A successful candidate will have an IAPP certification or plans to obtain one.

Responsibilities of Data Privacy Manager Advisory

  • Advise on privacy requirements for business projects through identifying and evaluating the organisation’s data processing activities and drive privacy by design at all levels. Act as a trusted advisor on the creation and maintenance of a personal data inventory and designing with the organisation proper systems of control over personal data and advise on Data Subject Rights Requests (DSRRs), data privacy incidents and supporting the organisation in conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) whilst ensuring that any regulatory updates or industry trends are brought to the table
  • Provide insights and guidance to a network of `Business Privacy Leads (BPLs)’ and act as a point of escalation for risks and issues raised by them on data privacy. Develop and implement necessary projects to minimise data privacy risk and provide advice. Ensure that any written information on the organisation’s obligations relating to data privacy (such as privacy notices and contractual clauses) is available for provision to customers, employees, temporary staff, contractors and third parties. Ensure that such information is modified in line with changes to data privacy laws. In addition, develop a process to support the organisation in complying with consent requirements such as gathering appropriate consent for marketing, cookie compliance on websites and maintaining an up-to-date privacy policy for customers and staff.
  • Ensure the smooth running of the Privacy Operations through advising and supporting relevant DPO resources regarding data subject rights requests as well as advising on the creation. Maintenance of records of processing operations (ROPA).

What You Will Do More

  • Provide advice to all employees, temporary staff and contractors related to their roles. Responsibilities with regard to data privacy laws and good practice. Provide advisory services for business units and projects and conduct negotiations with external stakeholders. Where required liaise with external counsel(s) to ensure compliance with privacy laws.
  • Monitoring regulatory updates and industry trends. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of data privacy laws, guidance and industry trends as it affects the management of data privacy risk. Understand the impact of these on the organisation and inform the stakeholders where changes are needed. Evaluate necessary policy and procedure changes, according to business need, legislation or regulatory changes. Develop or advise on the development of new policies and/or best practice to manage risk.
  • Support the organisation in maintaining an awareness of its obligations. To comply with data privacy laws, within all departments’ area of responsibilities. Identify training requirements on privacy compliance for employee

Requirements for Role of Data Privacy Manager Advisory

The eligibility requirements for role of Data Privacy Manager Advisory are as under:

  • Qualification from a body associated with Compliance such as the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), International Compliance Association (ICA) or the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).
  • Experience of which 2 to 5 years working within a Data Privacy Office. Or wider compliance or legal function of a large organisation with a focus on privacy.
  • Experience of operational compliance activities associated with privacy Solid knowledge of the GDPR or similar data privacy law.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

  • Ability to handle confidential information Ethical, with the ability to remain impartial and report all non-compliances.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Basic IT knowledge and understanding in terms of data storage, retrieval and system security.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the practical application of the GDPR. Or similar data privacy law, relating to the processing of personal data.
  • Able to exercise professional judgement in managing requests of, and communicating with, customers and regulators.
  • Able to communicate effectively with people at all levels, both inside and outside the organisation. Particularly with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to distil complex information into high-level summary reports/briefings. Able to develop and deliver guidance, advice and training to employees, temporary staff and contractors about their responsibilities regarding data privacy.
