Data & Platform Engineering at Etihad Airways in Ahmed Jumaa Al Za-aabee Building, Al Sharqi Street, opposite Madinat Zayed Shopping Centre, Al Danah, Zone 1, Abu Dhabi, UAE will be an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler and utilizes the latest technology to implement and support platforms for analytical use-cases. The selected candidate will support their software developers, database architects, data analysts and data scientists on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems and products. This is a Senior level full time job. And salary can range between 15000-35000 AED/month.

Responsibilities of Data & Platform Engineering

• Evaluate business needs and objectives.
• Identify opportunities for data acquisition.
• Analyze and organize raw data.
• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture,  Interpret trends and patterns / Build algorithms and prototypes.
• Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and  ‘big data’ technologies.
• Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.

Requirements for Role of Data & Platform Engineering

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
• 5-8 years of experience in IT Industry
• 3+ years of experience with Azure Data Engineering Stack (Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Event Hub, Cosmos DB, ADLS Gen2, Function app). Good understanding of other Azure services
• 3+ years of experience with Python / Pyspark
• Experience in Power BI, SFTP, Messaging, APIs would be an advantage.
• Experience of working in Agile delivery.
• DP200/DP201 certification is added advantage.

• Excellent knowledge of SQL and good understanding of Data Warehouse Architecture, Data Modelling and design concepts.
