Data Governance & Engagement Manager SSMC Abu Dhabi

Data Governance & Engagement Manager in Transformation Office at SSMC in Abu Dhabi, UAE will contribute to establishing common processes and procedures critical to data governance including data management, curating and extending data taxonomy catalog, data lineage and enabling corporate scorecard. This role will also be in charge of communicating the strategic and operational process of data management to data owners and stewards, and will also be responsible for all aspects related to tooling and automation related to data governance. This people-oriented role will have strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with all stakeholders. This is a Senior level full time job. And salary can range between 15000-25000 AED/month.

Responsibilities of Data Governance & Engagement Manager

• Supports data governance council activities.
• Leads subject matter expert groups on priorities and projects commissioned by data governance council.
• Collaborates across departments to ensure governance, data life cycle management and & protection issues while improving the quality of core data assets. Addressing regulatory requirements as well as supporting the strategic requirements of the department.
• Leads & manages all organization wide governance activities and support the in improving data literacy. Quality and governance of enterprise data and information through the data life cycle.
• Responds to customers and auditors inquiries related to data governance.
• Evaluates data governance program and determines if the program meets regulatory requirements, best practices, laws, rules, compliance with industry standards, customer expectations and employee safety.
• Monitors for industry best practices and trends in data governance and recommended new systems and technology for data governance activities.
• Works in collaboration with cross-functional teams and wider stakeholders to design, evolve and communicate data architecture for new and changing requirements.
• Establishes and governs an enterprise data and analytics governance implementation roadmap including strategic priorities for the development of information based capabilities.
• Develops data ownership structure and works with Business Leaders to understand organizational objectives. And anticipate analytical needs of internal stakeholders, in collaboration with analytics manager.
• Drives accountability by establishing a robust data and analytics governance and measurement framework across each project.
• Implements methodology/tool for standardizing data definitions and establishing data lineage.
• Works with business owners to mitigate data governance gap and other identified risks.
• Establishes data classification and handling requirements to protect sensitive data.
• Develops and implements a hospital wide data governance and data lifecycle management program.
• Defines roles and  related to data governance and ensure adoption by data owners.

Accountabilities

• The successful candidate will be expected to take ownership of data governance initiatives and lead the development. And implementation of policies and procedures related to data management, security, and compliance.
• This includes developing and maintaining data governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. And providing guidance and support to data stewards and data custodians.
• The Manager of Data Governance will be responsible for identifying & addressing data quality issues, working with stakeholders across the hospital. To establish data standards and guidelines and leading efforts to improve data literacy and data driven decision-making.
• To fulfill these , the Manager of Data Governance will need to be proactive and solutions oriented, taking the initiative to identify problems and develop creative and effective solutions.
• They will also need to communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders across the hospital, including senior leaders, data stewards, and IT professionals.

Requirements for Role of Data Governance & Engagement Manager

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Computer Science, Information Management, Healthcare Administration or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in data management, data governance, or related field.

Skills And Knowledge Desired

• Knowledge of data governance best practices and regulatory requirements, such as HIPAA, GDPR, or CCPA.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data and information.
