Responsibilities of Data Entry Clerk

  • Input, verify, and maintain accurate data records into the company’s database or information management system.
  • Retrieve and review data from source documents, forms, spreadsheets, or electronic files, and enter information with precision and attention to detail.
  • Perform data cleansing and validation tasks to ensure data integrity, consistency, and compliance with established standards and guidelines.
  • Identify and correct errors or discrepancies in data entries, troubleshoot issues, and escalate complex problems to the appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines and production goals, managing multiple assignments concurrently while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
  • Follow established procedures and protocols for data entry, including data security, confidentiality, and quality control measures.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to address data-related inquiries, resolve issues, and streamline processes for improved workflow and productivity.
  • Generate reports, summaries, and statistical analyses based on entered data as requested by management or other stakeholders.
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance data entry skills, software proficiency, and knowledge of industry best practices.

Requirements of Data Entry Clerk

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification, additional education or training in data entry, computer science, or related fields is a plus.
  • Proven experience of 1-2 years in data entry or administrative roles, with a demonstrated ability to accurately input and manage large volumes of data.

Skills and knowledge Desired

  • Proficiency in using computers and data entry software, with strong typing skills and familiarity with keyboard shortcuts and data entry techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills to maintain productivity and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify and resolve data discrepancies and errors effectively.
