Responsibilities of Customer Service Representative

  • Greet customers warmly as they enter the hypermarket, providing friendly and courteous assistance.
  • Assist customers with inquiries, product location, pricing, promotions, and general information about the hypermarket.
  • Handle customer complaints, concerns, and returns efficiently and professionally, striving to resolve issues to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • Process transactions accurately and efficiently at the checkout counter, handling cash, credit/debit cards, and other forms of payment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout area, ensuring that the counters are well stocked with bags, receipt paper, and other essentials.
  • Monitor and manage queues to minimize waiting times for customers, providing updates and assistance as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, inventory, and management, to address customer needs and improve service delivery.
  • Promote hypermarket loyalty programs, special promotions, and offers to customers, encouraging participation and engagement.
  • Stay informed about product features, pricing, and availability, offering recommendations and suggestions to customers based on their preferences and needs.
  • Follow company policies and procedures regarding customer interactions, privacy, and security of customer information.

Requirements of Customer Service Representative

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification required; additional education or training in customer service or retail management is a plus.
  • Previous experience of 1-2 years in customer service, retail sales, or a similar role preferred but not required; training will be provided.

Skills and Knowledge Desired

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage customers positively and resolve issues effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing transactions and handling customer inquiries.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment, multitasking and prioritizing tasks as needed.
  • Positive attitude, patience, and empathy in dealing with customer concerns and inquiries.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on hypermarket hours of operation.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with point of sale (POS) systems is advantageous.
