Scope of CT Technologist

To perform CT Examinations within the units/clinics and the Medical Imaging Department of the American Hospital. To be part of all Procedures and Processes that allow the Medical Imaging Department in providing a high standard of service and patient care by Assessing, Monitoring, Participating and Assisting in the daily Administration duties, Infection control / risk management, quality improvement and departmental / hospital wide in-services.

Responsibilities of CT Technologist

• CT Technologist integrates Scientific knowledge, Technical competence and Patient interaction skills to provide safe and accurate procedures with compassion.
• Recognize patient conditions essential for the successful completion of the procedure.
• Independently perform or assist the Licensed independent practitioner in the completion of Diagnostic, Therapeutic, Interventional and Fusion CT procedures.
• CT Technologists prepare, administer and document activities related to medications in accordance with state and federal regulations or lawful institutional policy.
• Think critically and use Independent, Professional and Ethical judgments in all aspects of their work.
• Engage in continuing education to include their area of practice to enhance patient care, public education, knowledge and technical competence.
• Responsible for daily operations of the CT Scanner, Patient Schedule, Equipment Maintenance, the report of Equipment Failures, and Quality Assessment (QA).

What you’ll do

As a CT Technologist in American Hospital Dubai you will

• Maintain a high standard of medical ethics at all times.
• Use Cognitive CT skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to Anatomical, Pathological, Diagnostic information and images.
• Use Independent judgment during the CT exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
• Analyse, Synthesize CT information and medical history, and communicate findings to the Physician.
• Coordinate work schedule with Departmental Director and/or scheduling desk to assure workload coverage.
• Assume responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while they are in the CT environment care.
• Establish and maintain ethical working relationships and good rapport with all interrelating hospitals, referral.
• Perform all requested CT examinations as ordered by the attending physician.
• Coordinate with other staff to assure appropriate patient care is provided.

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelors’ Degree in Medical Imaging.
• At least Three (3) years of recent experience in Radiology , with current clinical experience of (2)years in CT.

Knowledge & Skills

• CT technologists must demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, human physiology, pathology, pharmacology and medical terminology.
• They must maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and CT technique.
• Technologists must possess, use and maintain knowledge about radiation, magnetic protection and safety.
• Evidence of continuing education.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
