CAFU is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Credit Controller to join their finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing procedures and policies to ensure timely payments while maintaining strong customer relationships. This role is critical in managing complex accounts, reducing debtor days, and ensuring adherence to credit and collection policies.

Duties of Credit Controller

  • Create and implement procedures and policies to ensure timely payments from customers while fostering customer retention.
  • Continuously review and improve credit control processes to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Reconcile complex accounts escalated from the Accounts Receivable (AR) team, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Posting of customer payments and cash applications.
  • Correspond with customers regarding payment discrepancies or overdue balances and assist in resolving issues.
  • Analyse accounts transactions and provide insights to support decision-making.
  • Monitor debtor balances to reduce the DSO and minimize bad debt exposure.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups and customer visit as part of the payment follow-up process and to evaluate their creditworthiness.
  • Identify trends and patterns in debtor balances and take proactive measures to address potential issues.
  • Ensure compliance with credit and collection policies and procedures within the organization.
  • Implement strategies to mitigate credit risk and minimize overdue accounts.
  • Prepare periodic reports on accounts receivable status, aging analysis, and cash flow projections.
  • Liaise with customers to address payment queries, negotiate payment plans, and resolve billing disputes in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including the sales team, to provide updates on collections and address customer issues effectively.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility requirements for role of a Credit Controller are as under:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of proven experience as a Credit Controller or similar role, preferably in the petroleum or energy industry.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

  • Strong understanding of credit control principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to reconcile complex accounts.
  • Proficiency in financial software and MS Excel.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Arabic language is considered an added advantage.
