Responsibilities of Cook/Chef
- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and quality standards
- Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented according to the restaurant’s specifications and guest preferences
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan and execute daily menu offerings and specials
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including food storage, preparation stations, and cooking equipment
- Monitor food inventory levels and communicate with the Head Chef or Sous Chef to ensure adequate supplies are available
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of guests and staff
- Assist with menu development, recipe testing, and food costing as needed
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff members, including line cooks and kitchen assistants
- Participate in kitchen meetings, menu tastings, and staff training sessions
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes creativity, innovation, and teamwork
Requirements of Cook/Chef
- Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred but not required
- Proven experience of 1-2 years as a Cook/Chef in a restaurant or culinary environment
Skills & Knowledge Desired
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary trends, and kitchen operations
- Excellent culinary skills and ability to create flavorful and visually appealing dishes
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality and consistency in food preparation and presentation
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the demands of the restaurant industry
