Purpose of Contact Center Nurse

At Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi (UAE), the job purpose of a Contact Center Staff Nurse is to Utilize Telephonic Interaction to perform assessment and to facilitate caller access to the appropriate level of care primarily through referral to health care providers. The Registered Nurse coordinates activities associated with Facilitation of Local, Regional and International patient transfers to, and from Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.

Job Duties of a Contact Center Nurse

  • Facilitate timely patient transfer in and out of CCAD.
  • Process patient transfer requests in accordance with Established Protocols, Standards.
  • Serve as Liaison for outside referring physicians and facilities for Ambulatory visits.
  • Liaise with Financial Counselors to confirm financial clearance.
  • Conduct activities in collaboration with Nursing Operations Managers and Accepting/Receiving Staff Physician.
  • Collaborate with Physicians, Nurses and other Healthcare team members in planning to meet patient needs.
  • Communicate admission and transfer details among sending and receiving sites, emergency departments, transport companies, Financial Counselors and others as Appropriate.
  • Perform Telephonic Assessment of patients using the Schmidt Thompson protocol.
  • Utilize clinical knowledge to determine appropriate appointment type and urgency.
  • Schedule appointments, provide scheduling information, instructions and directions to patient or designee when required.
  • Facilitate triage disposition to the appropriate service at the appropriate time.

Contact Center Agent, Ajman University UAE

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years Post-graduate Experience.
  • Telephonic Nurse Triage Experience is Desirable.
  • Interfacility transfer coordination experience is Desirable.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong Interpersonal Skills.
  • Ability to speak and write in English and Arabic.
  • Valid and Current National License is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record Is preferable.
  • Telephonic Assessment Skills.
  • Telephonic & Computer Skills.
  • Multitasking Skills.
