NMC Healthcare presently has a job opening for suitably qualified and experienced candidate for position of a Consultant/Specialist Interventional Radiology (PL) at NMC – Corporate, Alain Tower, Abu Dhabi, AE. This is an Intermediate level full time role. For this position salary ranges from 20000-45000 AED, which may be slightly negotiable during the interview process.

Responsibilities of Consultant/Specialist Interventional Radiology

• Perform and interpret diagnostic imaging studies including X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, and ultrasound to diagnose medical conditions accurately.
• Plan and perform a variety of minimally invasive interventional procedures such as angiography, embolization, biopsies, drainages, and stent placements.
• Expertise in vascular as well as non-vascular procedures including percutaneous liver, renal and lung tumour ablation, biopsy, PTBD and stenting 4. Collaborate closely with referring physicians to develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
• Ensure the safety and comfort of patients throughout all procedures, providing clear explanations and answering any questions or concerns.
• Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or complications during and after procedures, taking prompt action as needed.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases and contribute expertise to patient management.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in interventional radiology techniques, equipment, and research, integrating new knowledge into clinical practice.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals as needed.
• Maintain accurate and thorough medical records, documentation, and billing information in compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies.

• Cerebral angiography.

• Prophylactic bilateral iliac balloon placement In High Risk PPH Cases Like Placental Abnormalities/ Fibroid Complicating Pregnancy.
• Fallopian Tube Recanalization For Tubal Blocks.
• Embolisation for pelvic congestion syndrome.
• Onco- interventions
• Biopsies / FNAC / imprint smear from tumours
• HCC treatment including RFA , MWA, TACE, PEI.
• Ablation of other tumors.
• Palliative interventions like ablation of bony metastases / nerve blocks / Chemo port insertion.
• Embolization of post operative / tumoral bleeds Aortic interventions.
• Endovascular thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysm stenting.
• Endogean embolization.

Requirements for Role of Consultant/Specialist Interventional Radiology

• Medical degree from an accredited institution and completion of residency training in diagnostic radiology.
• Board certification or eligibility in diagnostic radiology and interventional radiology.
• Fellowship/DM/CCT training in Interventional Radiology from an accredited program with minimum 3 years Residency Training.
• Current state medical license and eligibility for medical staff privileges at affiliated hospitals or healthcare facilities.
