Consultant Critical Care (Tier 1), Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City

Job Purpose of A Consultant Critical Care (Tier 1)

• Consultant Physician is responsible for leading and supervising the delivery of high quality evidence based care.
• Diagnosing, manage and treating all patients placed under the post holder care.
• Be an example of clinical excellence within his or her specialty and to provide leader ship and training for junior medical staff.

Job Duties As A Consultant Critical Care Tier 1 (Physician) At SSMC Abu Dhabi (UAE)

Managerial

• Supports and follows all hospital, departmental and divisional initiatives, policy and procedures.
• Helps lead the organization performance management system, including peer review & productivity / utilization review process.
• Assists with scheduling and supports the Division Chief to ensure that medical coverage is given within Division at all times.
• Attends Divisional meetings as required.
• Assists the Division Chief in the recruitment of new medical staff.
• Assumes other administrative or clinical duties as requested by the Division Chief.

Technical

• Treats patients according to standards of best practice for the post holder specialty.
• Oversees the clinical activities of the junior medical staff and assumes responsibility for the care they provide.
• Complies with all hospital polices regarding admissions, consultations, daily patient care, surgical procedures, outpatient and follow up practices.
• Practices appropriate utilization of the organization’s resources.
• Leads ward round, reassesses both inpatients and outpatients on a regular basis, in line with best practices.
• Accurately documents all clinical information in a clear and timely fashion.
• Regularly reviews results of all investigations and modifies treatment as required.
• Liaises with other medical specialties and support services for input as required.

Eligiblity Criteria?

Qualification (Tier-1 Only)

• MBBS or MBBCh.
• Completion of specialty qualification as per the “Recognized Specialty Certificate” from Tier 1 country.

Experience

• 2 years of experience after main specialty qualification.
• 1 year of experience after sub specialty qualification.
