About the Role
The Consultant Anaesthesia position represents a senior clinical role where you provide comprehensive anesthesia services across the hospital. Furthermore, you will work in a fast-paced environment managing complex cases requiring advanced clinical decision-making. This role demands expertise in both routine and emergency anesthesia management, alongside collaboration with surgical teams. Additionally, you will contribute to quality improvement initiatives and help establish best practices in anesthetic care.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer anesthesia for surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures
- Monitor patients before, during, and after anesthetic administration
- Assess patient medical history and develop individualized anesthetic care plans
- Manage acute and chronic pain control and post-operative pain management
- Respond rapidly to anesthetic emergencies and provide critical care
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Ensure strict compliance with hospital policies and international standards
- Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement programs
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient documentation
- Mentor junior anesthesia staff and residents
Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree
- Recognized residency training in Anesthesiology
- Board Certification or Fellowship in Anesthesia
- Valid UAE medical license or eligibility for registration
- Minimum 5 years clinical experience (preferably in tertiary care settings)
- Strong clinical judgment, decision-making, and communication skills
- Experience in critical care and pain management preferred
