Responsibilities of A Construction Manager

• Undertakes responsibility for overseeing the construction supervision activities of the design consultant and management of construction projects.
• Serves as the onsite representative for the management and inspection of contractor construction activities, coordination of construction with operations and tenants, determination of appropriate contractor progress payments, processing and negotiation of changes to the work and claims, and control of contract documentation including submittal and letter processing, monitoring and reporting progress.
• Supervises a staff consisting of construction coordinators, quantity surveyors and administrative assistants.
• Coordinates among supervision consultant, contractors, client personnel, design personnel, and others.
• Coordinates the resolution of construction problems.
• Participates in procurement / tender evaluations.
• Supervises the preparation of construction procedures.
• Drives the project procedures and reporting efforts.

Job Requirements

The eligibility requirements for role of a Construction Manager are as under:

• Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Construction Management.
• Minimum 17 years of construction experience directly related to delivery of major projects (at least 3 years in a direct leadership position).
• Prior experience in major infrastructure projects.
• PMC/Consulting experience is required.
• Significant technical expertise in both horizontal and vertical construction
• Creative Logistics experience.
• Desired: Higher Education Masters or above preferred.
• Prior Middle Eastern experience.
• Understanding of FIDIC contracts
• Prior Consultancy and/or Owner representative experience.
