Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City is seeking a Senior Compensation and Benefits Officer to join their team in Abu Dhabi. The role is responsible for managing the compensation and benefits section under the guidance of the line manager.

Responsibilities of Compensation and Benefits Officer

  • Ensuring the effective formulation, implementation and management of organization’s C&B policies.
  • Ensuring that employees’ compensation and benefits are being provided according to the approved Human Resources policy and procedures.
  • Reviews Compensation and Benefits policies and procedures. Contributes in updating the C&B policy by providing relevant inputs on a regular basis.
  • Develops plans and procedures to govern aspects of Comp & Ben section in accordance with the established policies.
  • Monitors and evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery process and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Provides interpretation of Human Resources policy related to compensation and benefits.
  • Manages the overall administration of the section and the services provided with the help of subordinates.
  • Enters and registers employee’s data in the new automated credentialing and licensing system.
  • Provides regular feedback to Sr. HRD on compensation and benefits issues and assisting him/her in planning any new initiatives for improvement in the section.
  • Provides statistical analysis of compensation and benefits data as needed from a variety of sources.
  • Formulation, implementation and management of SSMC’s policies and ensuring that employees’ compensation and benefits are being provided according to the approved Human Resources policy and procedures.
  • Confidentiality and integrity of reward data.

What you’ll do as Compensation and Benefits Officer

  • Facilitate and support in scheduling the annual salary review and rolling out of compensation and benefits programs and other adhoc initiatives. Ensure the administration of the annual salary review process and creation of the worksheets.
  • Keep abreast of market developments to evaluate the competitiveness of the organization wide compensation and benefits.
  • Review reward data periodically and highlight potential challenges with regards to internal equity and external competitiveness.
  • Ensure job descriptions are available for each approved job title and are regularly developed and improved to match with the actual work done by employees.
  • Conduct job evaluations for the roles across SSMC using the defined job evaluation methodology. Assign them correct job grade as per job evaluation scores.
  • Review proposed roles for alignment with the titling conventions and ensuring grading is in line with internal equity.
  • Manage C&B module of the system and ensure systems readiness for various C&B programs.
  • Ensure that required data is collected from employees and entered into the system.
  • Provide assistance to payroll regarding any payroll related issues as and when required.
  • Deal with changes related to payroll, promotion and annual entitlements.
  • Provide inputs for committees, panels and task forces as required.
  • Respond to employee queries and concerns during their service at the facility regarding employee’s eligibilities and rights in accordance with the Human Resources Policy.
  • Promote customer service based philosophy of facility.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams and committees as appropriate.
  • Manage direct reports and ensure team development and complaint resolution, sets KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) for them. Conduct performance appraisal and drive motivation levels of direct reports.
  • Comprehensive compensation and benefits advisory service covering all aspects of the reward lifecycle.

Qualifications & Experience

Following is the eligibility criteria for the role of Senior Compensation and Benefits Officer at SSMC:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources/Business Administration or a relevant field OR Diploma in relevant field.
  • 3 years of additional experience.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources/Business Administration or a relevant field is desirable.
  • Recognized Human Resources certifications such as Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), etc. is an advantage.
