Saudi German Hospital

A Communications Specialist at Saudi German Hospital will implement action plans to promote person centred care in his/ her area. The role holder will follow all relevant unit policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner while delivering a quality service to customers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities of Communications Specialist

  • Assist in preparing and updating policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with and support IT in implementation of enhancements and improvements to systems and processes and resolution of system issues, if any.
  • Adhere compliance with bylaws, rules, and regulations adopted by the UAE and by SGH.

Communications:

  • Assist in formulating and implementing a communications strategy and key tactics for SGH and ensure that all communications aspects are included and aligned with SGH overall strategy in the sole purpose of raising awareness, increasing revenue and enhancing the customer experience.
  • Assist in developing a communication plan as well as a media relations strategy that promotes, protects and builds on Saudi German Hospital reputation to drive engagement, alignment and understanding of SGH business objectives, strategy and priorities.
  • Facilitate media events as appropriate and generate press release material, conduct interviews and press conferences. Ensure efficient communication of all achievements, news and project development to enhance SGH image.
  • Draft internal communication announcements periodically to communicate events, share news, and announce new projects, etc. to keep all the SGH employees informed of all key activities.
  • Brainstorm and provide input whenever possible and ensure that materials are consistent with overall messaging for specific social media and website web-content and releases (pictures, videos, articles, etc.), and ensure that the message is communicated clearly and is aligned with SGH’s overall communication strategy.
  • Edit and amend internal and external communications such as newsletters, social media posts etc..
  • Identify the list of designated spokespeople at SGH, key stakeholders and physicians who will be in direct contact with the press to ensure SGH brand is being promoted in the right way.
  • Develop a proper communication plan in the event of a crisis that encompasses the steps and guidelines required to communicate with media, the public and key stakeholders.

Event Management:

  • Assist in developing the event strategy and key tactics to support the overall Branding and Communications strategy.
  • Support the Communications & Events Manager/Supervisor in planning, organizing and managing all sorts of preparations for the events.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings with the Branding & Communications (B&C) heads to develop a comprehensive and strategic set of special events and promotions to tactically achieve the objectives and strategies of the division’s plan.
  • Develop ongoing reports of events, analyze results, ensure events/ promotions have measurable components. Evaluate the activities against set KPIs utilizing standard special event analysis form to make sure they are aligned with the overall departmental target.
  • Facilitate the planning and implementation of all event logistics at a hospital level, including planning timetables, booking venues, supervising contractors and third-party vendors such as conference/ exhibition organizers, event management agencies, stand designers, audio-visual production companies and hospitality partners, ensuring delivery of the proper company brand image.
  • Coordinate the efforts to develop long term and annual event strategies by conducting ongoing research and benchmark analysis. Identify key learnings and ensure SGH is adopting the latest trends in the event management industry in order to support the transformation journey of SGH.

Events Sponsorship:

  • Assist the Communications & Events Manager/Supervisor in developing plans for sponsoring a variety of events in the community. Raise awareness on SGH projects and further promote it in the community, increasing people engagement. Assist in creating new investment opportunities while maintaining expenditure within agreed budgetary limits and standards.
  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of outreach strategies. Coordinate with the rest of the B&C team to seek sponsorships for owned events ranging from simple branding to an extensive engagement activity with physical attendance from SGH members.

Safety, Quality & Environment

  • Comply with all relevant health, patient safety and environmental management policies, procedures, patient and family right policies and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Provide person-centered care behavioral expectations in order to comply with SGH values.
  • Abide by CARE communication and service standards when interacting with other staff members or with patients and families.

Reporting

  • Contribute to the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet unit requirements, policies and standards.
  • Responsible for confidentially of information that they access to or came across during their employment at SGH.

General Responsibilities

  • Maintain professional growth and development to keep abreast of the latest trend of work scope.
  • Attend CARE training sessions and other trainings as required.
  • Provide solutions to meet and exceed patient’s expectations.

Related Assignment

  • Perform other related duties or assignments as directed by the Communications & Events Manager/Supervisor.
  • Participate in hospital committee, task-force meetings and other meetings as required.

Qualifications & Experience

Following is the eligibility criteria for the role of Communications Specialist at Saudi German Hospital:

  • Masters in Marketing/ Communication/ Events.
  • 2-4 years experience.

OR

  • Bachelors in Marketing/Events/Communication Degree.
  • 4-6 years of experience.
