Job Description
As a Commercial Steering Manager in commercial steering, you will have a pivotal role in driving the success of Etihad’s journey 2030. You will be responsible for steering the commercial division towards the strategic planning and execution of key initiatives, including the development and ownership of commercial objectives and country commercial plans (CCPs). Collaborating closely with Network Revenue Optimization (NRO), Sales, and EDML, you will lead the implementation of revenue-maximizing strategies.
Accountabilities
- Strategic oversight of commercial planning: Lead the development & execution of the CCPs (Country commercial plans). Ensuring alignment with broader divisional goals.
- Oversee performance reviews with key stakeholders (RM, Sales & EDML) through designated forums. And provide strategic recommendations to optimize progress and ensure alignment with CCPs objectives
- Commercial objectives development: Lead the creation of annual commercial objectives by coordinating with cross-functional teams to define measurable targets. Ensure clear communication and alignment of these objectives across the commercial division, driving business performance
- New routes process and performance: Manage and oversee the end-to-end process of new route launches. Collaborating with RM, Sales, and EDML to address risks and opportunities. Anticipate and remove roadblocks in Open for Sale (OFS) activities and frequency changes, ensuring smooth execution and maximizing revenue.
- Revenue optimization strategies: Oversee the implementation and tracking of revenue optimization initiatives. Ensuring alignment with commercial goals and identifying opportunities for incremental revenue generation across all key markets
- Communication of publication plans: Oversee the communication of the publication plans across the division. Ensuring all teams are in readiness to support ad-hoc and planned publications.
- Process and buy-in: Lead the creation, refinement, and implementation of end-to-end commercial processes to drive efficiency across Sales, EDML, and Revenue.
Education & Experience
- Bachelors’ degree, preferably in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field (post-grad. qualifications an advantage)
- Minimum of 7 years experience in a commercial function, with a track record of driving results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Strong commercial acumen with a proven ability to interpret and leverage data to drive strategic decision-making.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, with a demonstrated ability to create high-impact presentations for executive leadership Problem solving skills combined with leadership attributes that inspire teams to deliver results and navigate complex challenges
- Excellent communication, prioritization, and time management skills, with a proven ability to persuade stakeholders and secure buy-in for strategic initiatives Airline industry experience is an asset.
