American University in the Emirates
Nothing is Impossible
The College of Business Administration (COBA) at the American University in the Emirates (AUE), accredited by AACSB International, invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Public Administration for the Diploma in Public Administration (DLPA) Program in Dubai for the Fall Semester. This is a unique opportunity for a bilingual academic professional to contribute to a highly specialized and professionally oriented program. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering instruction in both English and Arabic, reflecting the bilingual nature of the program and the diverse needs of its student body.
Candidates with expertise in one or more of the following disciplines are strongly encouraged to apply: Public Administration, Public Policy, Governance and Public Sector Management, Human Resource Management in the Public Sector, Public Financial Management, and E-Government and Digital Transformation. Since the DLPA Program is specifically designed to develop competent public sector professionals in the UAE and broader GCC region, candidates who combine strong academic credentials with practical experience in government and public administration are especially valued by the college.
The successful faculty member will be responsible for delivering high-quality bilingual instruction in Public Administration courses, carrying a teaching load of 12 credit hours per academic semester. In addition, the candidate will assess and evaluate student performance using rigorous academic standards, provide individual academic advising, and contribute actively to departmental and university committee activities. Moreover, engagement in scholarly research, publication in peer-reviewed journals, and participation in community engagement and professional service activities are expected of all full-time faculty members at AUE.
A defining feature of this position is the requirement for bilingual instruction in both English and Arabic. Consequently, candidates must demonstrate strong academic fluency and professional communication skills in both languages. Since the DLPA Program serves government officials and public sector professionals across the UAE, the ability to articulate complex public administration concepts clearly in Arabic is a critical requirement. Additionally, candidates who have experience designing bilingual course materials or teaching in a bilingual academic setting will have a significant advantage in the selection process.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Public Administration, Public Policy, Political Science, or a closely related field from an internationally accredited institution. Additionally, a record of scholarly research and publication in peer-reviewed academic journals is required. Prior university-level teaching experience, particularly in bilingual or Arabic-medium environments, is highly desirable. Furthermore, professional experience within government agencies, public sector organizations, or policy research institutes will be considered a strong asset in the evaluation of candidates for this position.
AUE is a prestigious institution of higher education in Dubai, accredited by SACSCOC and licensed by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA). Since its founding, AUE has built a richly diverse academic community of students and faculty from over 100 nationalities. Additionally, the university is deeply committed to supporting its faculty through research resources, professional development opportunities, and a collaborative, multicultural academic environment.
AUE offers a competitive remuneration package for all full-time faculty positions, commensurate with academic rank, qualifications, and experience. The estimated salary range for this position is AED 12,000 to AED 22,000 per month. Therefore, this role presents an outstanding opportunity for a bilingual public administration scholar seeking to make a meaningful contribution at one of the UAE’s most respected AACSB-accredited universities. Additional benefits include professional development funding, access to research resources, and applicable university allowances for eligible employees.
Interested candidates are encouraged to submit a complete application through the AUE official careers portal as soon as possible. Please include an updated curriculum vitae, evidence of bilingual teaching competency, a research and teaching statement, and copies of all relevant academic qualifications. AUE is an equal opportunity employer and warmly welcomes applications from all qualified candidates regardless of nationality or background. We look forward to welcoming a dedicated and bilingual public administration scholar to the COBA team for the upcoming Fall Semester.
