EDGE Group is actively leading CNC Programmer who is provider of maintenance, repair and overhaul services, and comprehensive lifecycle support for land platforms, heavy utility vehicles and ground support equipment of the UAE Armed Forces. Responsibilities of CNC Programmer

• Analyse maintenance orders, review CREO models and/or blueprints, analyse program codes and make alterations to existing programs when necessary.
• Define the best sequence of machining steps with high repeat accuracy and efficiency.
• Make calculations to determine where and how materials should be cut.
• Determine cutting tools, tool path, machining speeds, feeds, depth of each cut and fixtures/attachments to be used that are appropriate considering the design specifications, materials and range of tools.
• Generate program code using the appropriate software to capture all required steps and ensure that prepared program code complies with all safety rules and regulations, including safety controls for data inputs, adjustments and edits.
• Run realistic and valid simulation tests, conduct quality testing and correct or improve program code in order to increase machine efficiency, machining quality and safety.
• Analyse the behavior of the prepared program code to diagnose a problem and find the underlying cause.
• Communicate with other programmers, shop floor management, operators, engineering and procurement employees to achieve the ultimate objective.
• Assist in preparing the machine loading plan and preparing the production related reports.
• Comply with all safety, housekeeping and environmental directives.
• Maintain the confidentiality and security of all company information.
• Support other members of the Fabrication Workshop in fulfilling their roles.
• Perform other duties as required by their line manager and the Manager, Fabrication.

Eligibility Requirements

The eligibility requirements for role of a CNC Programmer are as under:

• A high school certificate or equivalent, a college diploma or basic machine shop certification.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience performing CNC programming and hands-on CNC machining.

Skills Desired

• Previous military or manufacturing experience is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and organisational skills.
• An ability to work independently to troubleshoot and resolve problems is an advantage.
• The ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings/schematics.
• The ability to read and use conventional and digital precision measuring instruments and tools.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
• Good knowledge of CAD/CAM software i.e. CREO and/or TRUTOPS, IGEMS etc.
