Job Description

Dubai Academic Healthcare Corporation (DAHC) is presently hiring suitably qualified candidate for job position of a Specialist Clinical Dietitian. The selected candidate will be responsible to carry out nutritional assessments for pediatric patients (child, infants & adoscelents). This job vacancy is open for all nationalities residing in UAE, however, priority would be given to the UAE nationals.

Job Purpose of A Specialist Clinical Dietitian

Provide expert nutritional guidance and services to pediatric patients corresponding to specific patients conditions or dietary needs.

Job Duties of A Specialist Clinical Dietitian

  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments of pediatric patients with end stage organ disease, including pre transplantation and post transplantation patients, to determine their dietary needs, considering factors like age, weight, organ function, laboratory tests, medical history, and applied treatment protocols.
  • Create and implement individualized nutrition plans customized to each patient’s unique needs and medical conditions.
  • Develop nutrition plans for pediatric patients undergoing dialysis to maintain adequate nutrition, manage electrolyte imbalances and control fluid intake.
  • Provide nutritional counseling, education, and support to pediatric patients and their families.
  • Monitor the implementation of nutrition plans, evaluating patient’s adherence and progress, assessing changes in nutritional status, weight fluctuations and laboratory results to gauge the efficacy of prescribed nutrition plans.
  • Adjust the nutrition plans of patients as necessary to accommodate changing medical status or treatment protocols.
  • Provide ongoing post transplant nutritional care to pediatric patients, monitoring their dietary needs and adjusting nutrition plans.
  • Maintain accurate & comprehensive patient records, documenting all assessments, interventions & outcomes in a timely manner.
  • Participate in patient rounds and meetings to provide valuable insights about nutrition related aspects of patient care.
  • Develop & conduct community educational programs to promote health and nutrition awareness among family members caring for children with end stage organ failure.
  • Train staff, interns & volunteers related to job.
  • Participate in the recruitment of volunteers.
  • Participate in research studies related to the specialty area of pediatrics end stage organ failure.
  • Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations.
  • Follow policies and procedures related to nutrition and catering.
  • Undertake responsibilities of a dietitian or any other additional tasks as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Qualification & Experience

For UAE Nationals

  • Bachelor’s degree/Higher Diploma in nutrition or dietetics or related field with 12 years of experience.
  • Master’s degree in nutrition or dietetics or a related field with 5 years of experience.

For Non UAE Nationals

  • Master’s degree in nutrition or dietetics or a related field with 12 years of experience.
