Duncan & Ross is seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Inspector with expertise in steel structural inspection to join their dynamic team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, particularly in steel structural inspection, and a strong understanding of industry standards and regulations. Duties of A Civil Inspector
- Conduct thorough inspections of steel structural components at various stages of construction to ensure compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documents to understand project requirements and identify potential issues.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of steel structural workmanship, materials, and installation techniques.
- Document inspection findings, including non-conformities and deviations from approved plans, and prepare detailed reports for project stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to address construction issues and resolve technical challenges.
- Conduct site visits and participate in meetings with project teams to provide technical guidance and support.
- Verify adherence to safety protocols and procedures on construction sites to promote a safe working environment.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members and assist in their professional development.
- Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in steel structural inspection and civil engineering.
Eligibility Requirements
The eligibility requirements for role of a Civil Inspector are as under:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Relevant certifications or licenses (e.g., AWS Certified Welding Inspector) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on steel structural inspection.
Knowledge & Skills Desired
- Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Strong knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., AISC, ASTM, ASCE).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to diverse audiences.
