Job Purpose of A Civil Engineer

Plan, monitor and approve all civil and structural engineering design, procurement & construction activities associated with all projects across Dolphin Energy in liaison with project planning and management for a wide range of activities including layouts, foundations, pipelines, structural design, buildings, drainage, roads construction plans etc.

Job Duties of A Civil Engineer

• Oversee detailed design and engineering activity for all civil and structural aspects of projects, including formulation of engineering & procurement & construction specifications to ensure alignment to project goals and strategy.
• Prepare recommendations with supporting technical data for effective development of specifications and equipment data sheets.
• Supervise & approve activities of assigned personnel and contractor on all civil and structural related activities.
• Coordinate civil and structural review and approval of design, equipment and interface with contractor and vendors on Dolphin Energy UAE’s requirements.
• Lead site meetings related to all aspects of civil and structural matters.
• Review and approve all related technical documents and coordinate with Senior Manager Engineering on technical issues.
• Advice on layouts, site preparation, foundations, buildings, structural platforms, pipeline design etc while participating in technical evaluation of contractor vendor proposals to assess technical capability and ensure that bidder’s proposals are in compliance with set specifications.
• Ensure contractor activities within area of responsibility are carried out in accordance with contractual strategy.
• Participate in all project reviews to assure adherence to standards while highlighting areas of non conformances.
• Coordinate and provide civil and structural support for all project construction activities.
• Ensure the preparation of Construction Engineering documents by Contractor including detailed procedures, method statements, drawings, calculation notes, list of construction equipment, planning and back up procedures.
• Visit work sites to establish existing conditions.
• Review applicability of existing drawings, standards and specifications and recommend appropriate changes.
• Carry out the technical reviews for all areas of work covered in civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare updates on weekly progress, resource requirements, drawings and documents availability.
• Report any important issue, such as deviations or delays to management.
• Perform other similar or related duties as required or assigned by Senior Manager Engineering.
