Child Protection Assistant Specialist (for citizens only) at Emirates Schools Establishment Dubai is responsible to implementing child protection mechanisms and measures in educational institutions stipulated in Federal Law No. (3) of 2016 and its executive regulations and following up on the application and development of relevant laws and regulations, in coordination with the relevant and competent authorities, following up on the implementation of activities related to the work of the Child Protection Unit.
Responsibilities of Child Protection Assistant Specialist
- Preparing special reports for the relevant authorities and authorities of the judiciary and partners in the child protection system.
- Preparing programs to prevent delinquency and confront social problems in the field of child protection and preparing specialized training plans in the field of child protection.
- Prepare a report and submit a recommendation to the relevant authorities to support the child’s family in the event that the child protection specialist finds out that the reason for the caretaker’s negligence is due to poor conditions.
- Conduct field visits to the student, if necessary, for the purpose of checking on his condition and solving any problems he may encounter.
- Going to police stations, public prosecutors, and courts and making home visits to children and their families.
- Movement between regions in the country according to the assigned cases.
- Participate with the relevant authorities and competent authorities to ensure the provision of shelter services and psychological, social, health and security support to children who are students exposed in any way.
- Organizing specialized training programs for those dealing with children. Introducing them to the difficulties they may face in dealing with them, and ways to address those problems.
- Submit a report to the Ministry’s leadership to address the Public Prosecution, if necessary, to direct the child’s guardian. If he insists on not adhering to the implementation of the agreed upon recommendations.
- Follow up on procedures and measures related to implementing the Student Behavior Management Regulations & supporting behavior committees in educational institutions.
- Follow up on reports on cases of child abuse received from educational institutions & follow them up directly with competent authorities. Follow up on investigations in cases in which the student is the victim.
- Develop and implement programs and activities for individual cases of students from the category of orphans and neglected children.
Job Requirements of Child Protection Assistant Specialist
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Law.
- Minimum 2 year experience in similar role.
Skills & Knowledge Desired
- Passing the organization’s approved training program to qualify as a child protection assistant specialist.
- Undergoing specialized training to obtain judicial custody.
