Job Description

Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) is presently recruiting suitably qualified candidate for the job position of Chemist in Dubai. This job was posted by ENOC on 6 October 2023 and is now open to receive applications from aspirants.

Job Purpose of A Chemist

Is responsible for product testing under the supervision of Sr. Chemist.

Job Duties of A Chemist

  • Ensure testing of lubricants & Greases as per ASTM/IP/DIN/ISO methods.
  • Effectively handles ICP, FTIR, MRV, CCS, SSI and other routine testing such as viscosity, flash point, pour point etc.
  • Works on shifts independently, taking responsibility of the laboratory and its activities.
  • Act as Quality Officer as part of ISO quality standard procedure.
  • Computes final test result and take responsibility of the testing according to testing procedure.
  • Prepares and maintains lab reports, quality certificates, calibration reports, etc for future references.
  • Serves as a member of firefighting crew as stated in the incident command system to safeguard the facilities.
  • Conducts testing and inspection of the raw materials, packaging materials, in-process testing, finished product testing and used oil testing.
  • Ensures to maintain the compliance of laboratory KPI / objectives.
  • Co- ordinate the implementation of IMS system as per the plant requirement. (viz., ISO 9000, ISO 14000, IATF 16949, ISO 45001 and ISO 17025).
  • Assisting to managers for capex budgeting, Instruments and consumable procurement based on requirement.
  • Develops new products and maintain formulations as per Technology advise.
  • Liaisons with third party customers, suppliers etc., for lab related operations for day to day activities if any.
  • Other Responsibilities as per Company’s Rules and Delegation of Authority Manual.
  • Responsible for AIMs (Assets Integrated Management System), understanding and implementation .
  • To ensure the compliance of Legal, business ethics, group sustainability/ security.
  • Conducts safety audits / gapes within the department and inform HSE department immediately.
  • To takes part in accident / incident investigation as and when required.
  • To report Near misses, Hypo near misses to concerned staff.

Who Can Apply?

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Graduate in chemistry, chemical engineering, environmental science or material science.

Experience

  • 3-5 years’ experience in hands-on testing and laboratory systems in a reasonably complex multinational environment preferably in lubricants blending plant.(For UAE nationals  any experience waiver requires Management approval ).
