Looking for a Charge Nurse ICU job in Ajman? Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMCA) is recruiting an experienced Charge Nurse to provide advanced clinical nursing care and operational leadership in the critical care unit. This full-time position offers the opportunity to lead a dynamic nursing team in one of the UAE’s premier healthcare facilities. Additionally, you will combine clinical expertise with management responsibilities to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.
About the Role
The Charge Nurse ICU position encompasses both advanced clinical nursing and unit leadership responsibilities in a fast-paced critical care environment. Furthermore, you will create and maintain a safe, supportive atmosphere while coordinating complex unit operations and managing nursing staff. This role requires strong clinical judgment combined with exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills. Additionally, you will act as a role model and mentor for nursing staff while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and oversee high-quality patient-centered nursing care in the ICU
- Provide clinical leadership and establish yourself as a trusted clinical role model
- Coordinate unit operations including patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Manage staffing allocation and resource distribution across shifts
- Supervise, guide, and support nursing staff professional development
- Monitor patient acuity levels and escalate care as clinically indicated
- Ensure strict compliance with infection control and safety protocols
- Report incidents and liaise with quality assurance teams promptly
- Maintain high standards of clinical documentation and record-keeping
- Support Shared Governance Councils and participate in quality improvement audits
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
- Valid nursing license in the UAE (MOH/DHA registration)
- Minimum 6 years of clinical nursing experience in ICU settings
- Proven experience in Charge Nurse or nursing leadership role
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications
- Strong clinical, leadership, and communication abilities
