Job Description

The Office of the Provost at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) is seeking an experienced higher education professional for the position of Director of the Center for Learning Support Services and e Learning Programs (CLSSELP). The Director of CLSSELP reports directly to the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs.

Responsibilities of Center Director

Supervision of Peer Tutoring and Teaching Assistant services.
Coordination of these academic support services with the operations of the Writing Center and the Math & Science Center.
Coordination of the university’s first year transition course, the study skills course, and other related developmental or early retention programming.
Planning and implementation of Faculty Professional Development, including programming focused on technology enhanced teaching and learning, in coordination with the Provost and the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs.
Coordination of the university’s e Learning courses and programs.

Job Requirements

The requirements for the job role of Center Director are as under;

Doctoral degree from an accredited higher education institution.
Administrative experience in a university operating on the American model of higher education.
Experience in supervising Academic Support Services.
Experience in planning and delivering Faculty Professional Development programming.
Experience in leading instructional technology initiatives in a university setting.
Ph.D. in Psychology.
Experience with online and distance learning.
Experience teaching in a university operating on the American model of higher education.
Experience with accreditation by one of the U.S. regional accrediting organizations.
